Music Generation Limerick City

Music Generation Limerick City, Creative Centre, 30 Cecil Street, Limerick City.

Boris Hunka Co-ordinator of Music Generation Limerick City has enjoyed a varied career as musician, producer, administrator and teacher across a range of musical styles. Following a Music Degree at York, he started his career in London, running large scale arts and festival projects, working with artists including Courtney Pine, Mika and Sir George Martin at events including the Barbados Jazz, South Bank and the Larmer Tree festivals, the MOBO awards and the Live 8 concerts.

He moved to Ireland in 2007 and has since held senior roles at the Irish Chamber Orchestra, Shannon International Music Festival, Limerick City Africa Day, Feile Eile and the Percussion Studio. He has also worked on projects for a range of festivals, including the Electric Picnic, Iniscealtra, Terryglass and Kinsale Arts Week. As a teacher and workshop leader he has recently worked with the National Children’s Choir, the ICO’s Sing Out with Strings project, Music Factory, Temple Bar Cultural Trust and the Ark Centre for Children, as well as numerous visits to schools and festivals and individual tuition. He continues to perform as multi-instrumentalist in a rage of genres.

Music Generation Limerick City is managed by Limerick City Music Education Partnership, led by Limerick Education and Training Board in partnership with Limerick City Council, University of Limerick, Mary Immaculate College, Limerick Institute of Technology, Irish Chamber Orchestra, Limerick College of Further Education, Limerick School of Music, Learning Hub Limerick, Oscailt Network of DEIS Primary Schools, DEIS Post-Primary Schools, RTÉ lyric fm, Youth Services, Peter Dee Academy of Music and Redemptorist Music Centre.
