Music Generation South Dublin: Current Programmes
Music Generation South Dublin runs a variety of programmes and tuition including:
Early Years music programme for children aged 0-5 based in creche, montessori and local libraries in partnership with South Dublin Libraries.
Ready Steady Sing
An exciting vocal programme for primary schools.
Ready Steady Play
A music performance programme for primary schools including tuition in violin, tin whistle, bodhran, recorder, guitar and ukulele.
Post-Primary Vocal and Instrumental Programme
A secondary school vocal and instrumental programme.
Suburban Sounds Schools
An exciting 12 week, secondary school performance music programme which introduces young people to song writing, recording and performing. Students are mentored by professional musicians towards creating, producing and performing music from the original conception to the final product and performance.
Suburban Sounds Tallaght
As an extension to Suburban Sounds Schools, this is an evening programme which enables young people to develop their song writing, their musicianship and their creativity. The opportunity to record their original compositions in the iconic Windmill Lane Recording Studios and perform in The Grand Social Dublin are highlights for the young people on this programme.
Community Music Hubs
Two community hubs located in Rathcoole Community Centre and St Peter Apostles JNS, Clondalkin offer a range of vocal and instrumental tuition to children and young people.
County Ensembles - Traditional, Vocal and String Ensembles
These ensembles provide a platform for intermediate/advanced students in existing Music Generation South Dublin programmes to connect and perform with students in similar programmes across the county.
A variety of instruments are available to rent at subsidised rates.
