Symphonic Waves

Symphonic Waves

Symphonic Waves is a youth orchestra for the west of Ireland open to young musicians aged 13 - 21 from or based in Galway, Roscommon, Sligo, Leitrim, Mayo, Clare or Limerick. Symphonic Waves is supported by Galway 2020 and Galway County Council and managed and delivered by Music Generation Galway County and Music Generation Galway City.

Uilleann Pipes Tuition Programme

Uilleann Pipes Tuition Programme

Music Generation Galway County’s Uilleann Pipes tuition programme in partnership with Na Píobairí Uilleann has launched in two locations in Connemara – An Cheathrú Rua (Carraroe) and Corr Na Móna – and Clifden with expansion planned into the future subject to demand.

Lán le Ceol

Lán le Ceol

A child-centred performance music education approach for Junior Infants – 6th Class which engages children in active music-making in primary school settings through singing activities, games, rhythm, solfége and improvisation encouraging independent music making from an early age.

RockPopHipHop

RockPopHipHop

A popular music access programme for teenagers providing tuition in a range of instruments and vocals as well as ensemble playing, creating opportunities for participants to meet like-minded musicians and form bands. Launched in Tuam and Gort in January 2019, RockPopHipHop will continue to expand to new locations over the coming years.

Music Generation Galway County is managed by Galway County Music Education Partnership, led by Galway and Roscommon ETB in partnership with Galway County Council, An Roinn Ealaíon, Gaeltachta agus Oidhreachta, Ealaín na Gaeltachta, Tusla, Galway Mayo Institute of Technology, NUI Galway, Galway Rural Development, FORUM Connemara CLG, local music partners: Music Matters, Headford Music Works, An Gaelacadamh, Athenry Music School, Coole Music & Arts and The Galway Music Residency, youth services: Foróige, Youthwork Ireland Galway, FORUM Adolescent Support Project and Involve, festivals: Baboró and the Galway Jazz Festival, representatives from the National Association of Principals and Deputy Principals, the Irish Primary Principals Association, the Post Primary Music Teachers Association, Galway Education Centre and media partner, The Galway Advertiser Newspaper Group.
