Young voices uplift the Midlands

A unique collaboration of young voices unite in Tullamore this month when the Irish Youth Chamber Choir conducted by Greg Beardsell will perform in the Church of Assumption on Sunday April 26th at 7.30pm alongside local school choirs and the award winning Tullamore Academy Chamber Choir.

Organised by the Association of Irish Choirs and in partnership with Music Generation Offaly/Westmeath, the concert is one of only 3 nationally and those in choral circles will know the calibre of Greg Beardsell, a renowned director who has worked extensively in Ireland and the UK including the BBC Symphony Chorus, the London Bach Choir and the National Youth Orchestras of Ireland and Ulster.

Preceding the concert will be workshops in which young choral participants in Music Generation Offaly/Westmeath will get a taste of working with Greg. Participating schools will be St Peters GNS (Athlone) Dean Kelly BNS (Athlone) and Rath NS (Birr) Ard Scoil Chiarain (Clara), Scoil Naomh Cormac (Kilcormac) and Moate Community School.

The secondary schools will join the Irish Youth Chamber Choir in their performance on Sunday, alongside the award winning Tullamore Academy Chamber Choir led by Ciaran Brady.
