Celebrate culture, creativity and the arts with Music Generation this Culture Night 2026.
The national One Night for All will take place on Friday 18th September 2026. As always, there’s something musical for everyone to enjoy across the country. Experience Music Generation takeovers across community spaces, libraries, and venues! From live performances and hands-on workshops to taster sessions and live karaoke, there's something to get everyone involved.
Music Generation Waterford Wind Band will perform in the Vestibule of the Theatre Royal at 6pm, before heading to Ardkeen Library for a special 7pm set. The Theatre Royal is opening its doors for a full house takeover, letting young musicians play in spaces all across the venue!
Fancy some live Karaoke with your pals? Music Generation Fingal, in collaboration with Balbriggan Youth Service, invites 13–18-year-olds to assume the role of lead singer with their very own ready-made professional LIVE backing band! Three super talented Musician Educators will be ready to support you to play your favourite songs. They will provide everything, and no prior singing or playing experience is necessary. Young musicians from the Boyle and Roscommon town hubs of Music Generation Roscommon will take the stage at The Dock Arts Centre in Carrick-on-Shannon at 8pm. They will perform in a special live gig alongside emerging talent from across Leitrim, collaborating directly with professional musicians on stage. Music Generation Offaly will host 'Midland Rocks Battle of the Bands' at John Lee's in Tullamore from 6pm. Young singers and musicians are invited to sign up for a evening of creativity, community, and live performance! Whether it's your band's first time performing or a chance to test out a new song, this is the perfect opportunity to play live for an audience. Sign up for your free spot here.
Donegal will start the Culture Night celebrations a little early this year with a special series of Community Concerts called ‘Brass Routes’. On Thursday 17th Septemer the RTÉ Concert Orchestra will bring the magic of classical music to young musicians across Donegal’s west coast. With a special focus on brass instruments, the mini tour will give young people the opportunity to hear live orchestral music, learn more about the instruments and take part in hands-on workshops where they can try the instruments for themselves. The tour will make stops in national and secondary schools in the Dungloe and Glenties areas. Read more here.

Music Generation Carlo will host an inclusive Trad Session welcoming all to come along to Railway House, Bagenalstown and play a tune.
Music Generation/Cavan Monaghan
Bring along your instrument and join the Tradoodle Big Band and Cuilcagh Group for a session for the 9th Annual Tradoodle Festival.
The session will take place at 6.15pm at the Monaghan Peace Campus on Friday 18th September.
Music Generation Cork City
This year, Music Generation Cork City are partnering up with Cork City Libraries to offer a variety of delightful events at their locations in Grand Parade, Carnegie Courtyard and Hollyhill Library. Events include 'Rock the Block' , Gamelan workshops, Rap& Beats workshops and an Intergenerationl Trad Session.
Donegal Music Education Partnership
The Donegal Youth Orchestra invites you to join their rehearsals in the Regional Cultural Centre from 6-8pm. Come along, meet the members, discover what it means to be part of a youth orchestra and have a go at trying out an instrument.

Music Generation Galway County
Join Music Generation Galway County this Friday for Galway County Culture Night at Cue One for a special Livefeed workshop followed by performances and conversation with special guests: Shark School, Sakura and Metanoia!
This youth event, exclusively for young people aged 13–18, is organised by Music Generation Galway County and Cue One with support from Galway County Council and Oíche Chultúir/Culture Night 2026.

Young string musicians from Music Generation Kerry and ICO Youth will come together on Culture Night for the culmination of this year's Corda Connections collaboration, following a year of rehearsals, learning and shared musical experiences.

Music Generation Laois
Music Generation Laois, Laois Sports Office and Comhairle na n-Óg present A Youth Open Mic Event for bands and singer-songwriters in the newly developed youth space at the People’s Park, Portlaoise. This exciting development includes permanent staging, amphitheatre-style seating, a sound desk area, additional seating areas, all nestled among the natural woodlands of the People’s Park.
Open to all young people and all musical genres in County Laois. Music Generation Laois will have a team of experienced Musician Educators and a range of instruments on hand - Drum Kit, Bass & Guitar Amps, Keyboard, Guitars. A professional sound and lighting team will ensure a top quality audio experience.

Enjoy new music performanced by the Music Generation Louth Senior Harp Ensemble, led and composed by Donnchadh with local harper Deirdre Ní Bhuachalla, with visuals by Seán McMahon, this immersive performance will combine music, image, and community voices in response to climate change.

To close the evening of wokrshops and performance, Music Generation Sligo will host special youth band performances showcasing young musicians from across the region.
Music Generation Waterford

Music Generation Waterford will also host a Sognwriting Workshop from 7pm to 9pm at St. Patrick's Gateway. Visitors can explore lyric writing, develop beats and create sounds!
Music Generation Wexford
As part of this year's Culture Night celebrations, Music Generation Wexford's Yellow Bellows recently took part in a full-day recording session at The Presentation Arts Centre with Brendan Carthy of The Orchard Recording Studio. They will present their performance live at St John's Amphitheatre, Enniscorthy, on Friday, 18 September, at 5.30pm.
