We are excited to present the Music Generation Annual Report for 2025. In 2024, we proudly reached 10% of children and young people in Ireland.
Crunniú na nÓg is just around the corner! A day of free creativity for children and young people in Ireland and it all takes place on Saturday the 10th June 2023. Here at Music Generation, we have an incredible line-up of over 50 music workshops, performances and events for all ages. Early years music, DJing workshops, songwriting, or even a trad jam - you’ll find it here. So let’s dive in!
Are you an aspiring songwriter? Music Generation Clare is hosting a singer-songwriter masterclass and performance with the one and only John Spillane. This is your chance to learn from one of Ireland’s most talented wordsmiths and accomplished performers. Find all the details here.
If you're up for trying something new, why not join a bucket drumming session with Music Generation Leitrim or a percussion workshop with Music Generation Kerry? Who knows, you might discover your hidden talent.
Prepare to be blown away by young rappers from Music Generation Limerick County and Music Generation Wicklow. Each group participated in Creative Ireland’s Rhyme Island with GMC Beats and The Kabin Studio to write a rap and record a music video. Rhyme Island Abbeyfeale’s music video will be released on 10th June and Kiltipper Village music video is available to watch now. View it here or below.
Youth Music Scene
- Music Generation Sligo are set to perform at Music at the Marquee on Saturday 10th June. The gig will feature local youth bands and a special performance of an original track called ‘The Summer is Here’ written for Cruinniú na nÓg Sligo. It’s catchy and it’s sure to be a summertime hit. Hear it performed live by young musicians and singers from Summerhill College at ‘Music at the Marquee.

- Check out Garageland Galaxyz Festival for Young Musicians takes place in Athlone with Music Generation Westmeath. Expect special guests, music industry workshops and lots of young bands.
- Livefeed Youth Music Event at the Róisín Dubh Music Venue with Music Generation Galway City. Find out more here.
- Laois Le Cheile Laois Together will have Open Mic opportunities on the Main Stage throughout the day as well as performances from local bands and groups. Join Music Generation Laois and friends from 1pm-4pm at Laois Music Centre on 10th June.
