Music Generation is Ireland’s National Music Education Programme funded by U2 and The Ireland Funds. It aims to help children and young people to access vocal and instrumental tuition in their own locality by offering funding and support to establish Music Education Partnerships throughout Ireland. A committee of local agencies has been formed to prepare an application to Music Generation for a Music Education Programme in Sligo. If successful, there will be a number of opportunities for children up to the age of 18 to learn a musical instrument and/or sing as part of the overall programme in Sligo.
You are invited to contribute to this process to assist the steering committee in mapping music education provision and need in Sligo. A temporary site has been set up for the purpose of gathering this information. Check out www.sligomep.comand play your part.
