Calling All Music Makers: Celebrate World Children’s Day 2024 through Music!
On World Children’s Day on November 20th we’re inviting young musicians to share their favourite musical moment from We are Music Generation 2024!
Music Generation young musicians, tutors and teams are busy this month preparing for a whole host of concerts, performances and events to mark the end of the 2016/17 academic year.
Music Generation Carlow will present a multi-genre musical celebration at two Gala Concerts later this month at The George Bernard Shaw Theatre, featuring young musicians from throughout County Carlow.
The annual Music Generation Clare Concert in Glór, Ennis showcased a fantastic and diverse line-up of performances from the Clare Trazz Ensemble, Clare Concertina Collective, the Pop and Rock Orchestra, brass, wind and strings players, and choral groups.
A musical May-Hum will bring Cork City to life, with Gamelan sessions for young musicians and a day-long Feel-good Friday hosted in the City Centre, in partnership with Cork City Council and Cork Business Association on May 26th.
Donegal Music Education Partnership's 'Soiree at the Castle' promises to be a very special concert in a special setting this Friday 19 May, with performances from Saxtet, Donegal Youth Choir and opera singer Ann Jennings.
The Music Generation Laois Gala Concert on Sunday 21 May will give audiences an opportunity to enjoy performances by the Laois School of Music Youth Orchestra and several Music Generation Laois ensembles including their National Schools Choir, Trad Orchestra and Harp Ensemble, with special guests Fiúntas, at The Malt House in Stradbally will .
On May 28th, Limerick City will welcome bands from all over Ireland for ‘Music Generation 'Live at the Milk Market’ – a national partnership project where young musicians, singers and songwriters will have a chance to come together with professional musicians to workshop their own original compositions, and later perform them live on stage!
Two special concerts in Drogheda and Dundalk will mark the culmination of the first term of the Music Generation Louth 'Pick up and Play' initiative, and will include performances by the new Pathways Orchestra.
Music Generation Mayo will mark the end of the school year with performances throughout the county, from young guitar, violin, saxophone, drums, piano and vocal concerts in Louisburgh, Crossmolina and Ballinrobe, to a Ukulele Squad in Castlebar, to a full brass and reed band procession in Foxford!
It’s all-systems-go at Music Generation Offaly/Westmeath as the grand finale weekend of Singfest 2017 draws ever closer. This choral residency for young singers ages 8 to 19, led by an exceptional team of performers, conductors and educators, will wrap up with what promises to be a fantastic Gala Concert on Saturday 10 June in Athlone Institute of Technology.
Hot on the heels of the second annual Tuned In! masterclass and performance programme as part of the Sligo International Chamber Music Festival, Music Generation Sligo is now gearing up for a series of end-of-term concerts for young students of keyboard, drums, vocals, cello, harp and uilleann pipes in regional tuition centres.
Young musicians participating in the Hubs programmes in South Dublin will have an opportunity to share their work with their friends, families and peers at a number of performances in Rathcoole, Collinstown, Killenarden and Firhouse later this month.
And just last week, on Thursday 11 May, the Mobile Music Machine and singer Lisa Lambe joined young musicians from three schools in County Wicklow for a strings and vocal concert at St Kevin’s Community College, Dunlavin.
