Music Generation South Dublin's Young Ambassador performs with RuthAnne to launch Toy Show The Musical

Late Late Toy Show Musical 7

Last Friday 13th May, Aaron Price of Lucan represented Music Generation South Dublin in a performance with Grammy nominee RuthAnne Cunningham on The Late Late Show. Aaron joined the Toy Show choir supporting Ruth Anne and Toy Show star Saoirse Ruane in a surprise announcement of Toy Show, The Musical.

Vocalist Aaron was selected to perform as a Music Generation South Dublin Young Ambassador through an audition with RuthAnne and The Late Late Show team. 6th class student Aaron, who also enjoys dancing and acting, was delighted to be a part of such an exciting announcement for young viewers nationwide.

In preparation for the performance Aaron had to quickly prepare and master harmonies for "All the Same", the debut lead song from Toy Show the Musical. Aaron and Toy Show choir members received guidance and support from the acclaimed songwriter RuthAnne. In conversation with Music Generation, Aaron described his experience:

"The most challenging part of the process was probably to nail it before I met RuthAnne so she wouldn't have to give us too many tips and tricks at rehearsal. She's really nice and she has a really good voice as well!"

RTÉ's new musical is created and produced by Late Late Show producers Jane Murphy and Katherine Drohan. It is written by award-winning playwright Lisa Tierney-Keogh. The music is by Grammy nominee RuthAnne Cunningham. The director is Séimí Campbell, whose recent work includes Gary Barlow's A Different Stage.Aaron was chuffed to be part of the launch of the new production!

" I felt proud because it's a really big show to be on. Even though I was in the choir it felt like such a big achievement to be on the Late Late Show. I was proud of myself. I was up on all my friend's stories on Snapchat."
