Music Generation Offaly/Westmeath is delighted to announce the appointment of its new Development Officer Margaret Broome, who will develop the project over the summer and into the new academic year.
Margaret Broome joins Music Generation Offaly/Westmeath having previously held posts as a Principal Teacher of music in Fife, Scotland and as a performance tutor (voice and piano) at NUI Maynooth. Originally from Edinburgh, Scotland, Margaret is a graduate of The Royal Scottish Academy of Music, Glasgow (B.Ed (music), piano and education), and from the University of York, England (M.A (music), performance and education). Margaret brings substantial and varied experience of music education in a number of contexts to Music Generation Offaly/Westmeath, a project which will widen access to music education for children across the two counties over the next 3 years.
Commenting on Margaret's appointment, Rosaleen Molloy, National Director of Music Generation said, “I am delighted to welcome Margaret to the Music Generation team. With her significant experience of working in music education, Margaret brings a wealth of expertise to the role of Development Officer with Music Generation Offaly / Westmeath. This position is one of many employment opportunities that has been created through Music Generation and demonstrates the positive impact that the philanthropic support of U2 and The Ireland Funds is having on job creation in Ireland.”
