Music Generation Celebrates St Patricks Day

Lá Fhéile Pádraig sona dhaoibh! 

Celebrate St. Patrick's Festival weekend with Music Generation. There's live performances, parades and more for all ages to enjoy. 

Music Generation Cavan/Monaghan have two big gigs in Monaghan and Belfast. Their Cross Border Folk Orchestra has over 100 young musicians. They will perform with Irish music legends Michael McGoldrick and Michael Rooney. We have all the concert details listed below.

St Canice's Catherdral in Kilkenny will be alive with trad music thanks to Music Generation Kilkenny. Their afternoon concert is not to be missed. It will feature performances from Castlecomer Trad Ensemble, young uilleann pipers and more. 

There are celebrations happening all over the country. Music Generation Roscommon will host a parade after-party in Boyle. Ensembles from Music Generation Westmeath are set to march and perform in local St Patrick's Day parade.

Music Generation Cavan/Monaghan Cross Border Folk Orchestra

Hear the incredible Music Generation Cavan/Monaghan Cross Border Folk Orchestra perform with trad flautist Michael McGoldrick and trio. 

The young musicians have musical backgrounds in classical, trad, rock/pop and folk music. They will perform bespoke arrangements of original music by Michael McGoldrick.

The music is arranged and conducted by Michael Rooney. Hear them live in Monaghan and Belfast. Event details below.

Featuring young musicians from Boyle Music Hub and Woodwind players from Roscommon County Youth Orchestra.

Event: Trad Session in Naomi's Cafe

Venue:  Naomi's Cafe, Thurles 

Young Trad musicians are ready to entertain stafff and customers at Naomi's Cafe in Thurles. Pop in for a coffee and cake! 


Music Generation Westmeath

  1. Hear Ubuntu Voices Multicultural and Intergenerational Choir in the Moate Parade at 1:30pm. They will have a special performance afterwards at Moate Nursing Home.

     

  2. See the Mullingar Ukulele Group perform in the Market Square Parade from 1pm.
