Donegal Music Education Partnership

A unique and exquisite Donegal-inspired orchestral and storytelling adaptation of a favourite Oscar Wilde story.

The Happy Prince, retold by Little John Nee with a musical score composed and conducted by Vincent Kennedy is directed by Barrabas Theatre Company’s Raymond Keane. The music is played by the Donegal Music Education Partnership’s Youth Orchestra and sung by their Donegal Youth Choir. A family show, suitable for ages from 5+, it is 50 minutes in duration, and explores the timeless themes of love, friendship and compassion.

This beautiful performance of music, song and storytelling has its premiere performance in An Grianán Theatre, Letterkenny, on Saturday 14 April at 7pm with a matinee performance on Sunday 15 at 3pm, before moving to the Abbey Centre, Ballyshannon, on Saturday 21 April at 3pm and 7pm.

This production has been commissioned by the Donegal County Council’s Public Art Office, produced by An Grianán Theatre, and supported by the Donegal VEC Music Education Partnership.
