Get ready to immerse yourself in a night of cultural magic as Music Generation gears up for Culture Night on Friday 22nd September 2023.

Local Music Generation areas are joining the fun with over 30 exciting Culture Night events across Ireland. There will be a wide range of music workshops and live performances for everyone to enjoy.

Live Performances

Let Music Generation Roscommon take you back in time with their 70’s and 80’s music set list for Culture Night in Somers Park, Castlerea. Dig out those 80’s leg warmers and dance the night away! Read more about the event here.

Speaking of bygone eras, Music Generation Sligo will bring a contemporary twist to the 13th century surroundings of Sligo Abbey on Culture Night. Sligo Youth Voices, youth bands and young musicians will fill the ancient Abbey with music. It’s sure to be a very special performance at this historic landmark. Find out more here.

Jumping back to the future with Music Generation Limerick County! Young musicians from Newcastle West Foroige will be delving into the world of music and podcasting this Culture Night. Click here to see what’s planned.

In the midlands, Music Generation Westmeath will host a Flute ensemble performance in Athlone Library and a Mullingar Music Jammers performance in (you guessed it) Mullingar! Read more here.

Music Workshops

For all the 3 to 5 years olds, Music Generation Kildare will host Early Years music Workshops for children and their adult! Check out their Drums and Music Tech Workshops for the older kids too. Click here to sign up.

Do you know a young person who would like to test out an instrument before signing up to a class? Music Generation Cavan/Monaghan and Music Generation Galway City have just the thing. ‘Come and Try’ in Monaghan and Open Night in Galway Community College Music Centre is where you can ask questions and hear the instruments being played. You may even give your favourite instrument a go!

Ready to take the spotlight? Music Generation Offaly and Music Generation Cork City want to see you shine on Culture Night. The Open Youth Busk in Esker Arts Centre Tullamore and Open Trad/Mic Sessions at The Kabin Studio are the place to be.

Music Generation Kerry will host a series of unique workshops in ANAM Arts Centre, Killarney. Musician Educator Vairis Burcaks’ collection of electronic and world instruments from Asia and South America will be on display for all to try out. We can’t wait to learn more about these worldly instruments on Culture Night. Click here to sign up.
