The Music Department of St Patrick’s College, Drumcondra and Music Generation invite practitioners in performance education (instrumental/vocal tutors and music leaders) to a jointly organised Continuing Professional Development course taking place in July 2014. The course is designed for those teaching, directing and managing children's and young people's ensembles in diverse areas of, Classical strings, Percussion groups, Irish traditional music, Pop/rock Bands and Choral music.
The course will provide tutors and leaders (as well as invited children and young people) with opportunities to workshop and perform with artist level musicians across a diverse range of genres, and gain expert advice from the internationally renowned Fidelio Trio, Artists-in-Residence at St Patrick’s College. During this course, adult participants will take part in daily percussion and choral workshops, with the option also of actively participating in chamber music or song writing groups. Adult participants will also observe the modelling of best practice in group performance and organisation, and will be provided opportunities to reflect on a range of skills, techniques, methods and strategies relevant to their own professional practice.
