Celebrate Culture Night with Music Generation
This One Night For All takes place on Friday 19th September 2025.
For the third year running, Music Generation Mayo has offered financial assistance for young musicians aged 10-18 years who have acquired an excellent standard on their instrument through the Exceptional Music Student Bursary Scheme.
This scheme offers bursaries to defray the costs of accessing tuition or the upgrade of a musical instrument. In 2015 a combined total of €27,000 was awarded collectively to 22 young musicians from County Mayo.
Recipients officially received their bursaries at an awards ceremony in the Linenhall Arts Centre, Castlebar on Monday 7 December, where they gave performances on a range of instruments and in a variety of musical genres with great support from families, friends and teachers.
The 2015 recipients, pictured above, are:
Back Row L-R: Grace McDonnell, Niamh O’Donnell, Anna Guthrie, Fionnuala Horkan, Alan Judge, Chloe Feeney, Niall Coffey, Patrick Cafferkey, Rachel Walsh, Shauna Dixon, Roisin McNulty, Eileen Barry
Front Row L-R: Niamh Mulhern, Seádna O’Donnell, Sophia Shally, Cathal Walsh, Eoin Treanor, Áine Fox, Hannah Flatley, Ilia Marcev and Cathal Cosgrave (missing from photo: Nicole O’Malley)
We wish them the best of luck with their musical futures and no doubt that we'll be seeing them on the stage again in the near future!
