28 September 2016, Dublin - Music Generation is delighted to publish the Music Generation National Development Office Strategic Plan, 2016 - 2021. This plan sets out the overall priority goals for Music Generation as it moves towards its next exciting phase of development.
Music Generation is Ireland’s national music education programme, initiated by Music Network and co-funded by U2, The Ireland Funds, the Department of Education and Skills and Local Music Education Partnerships. Music Generation transforms the lives of children and young people by creating access to high-quality performance music education in their locality. Currently, Music Generation reaches some 38,000 children and young people annually, creating 330 employment opportunities in 13 areas of Ireland.
Over the next five years, Music Generation will build on the success of its first phase, focussing on strengthening and developing the ongoing work in existing Music Education Partnerships as well as expanding into new areas of Ireland.
