Music Generation Musicians Join U2 for 50th Anniversary Performance at Mount Temple
32 young Music Generation musicians representing every county in Ireland took the stage with U2 to mark the band's 50th Anniversary on 25th September 2026.
The Fidelio Trio, artists-in-residence at the Music Department, St Patrick’s College, Drumcondra, will present a ‘taster’ course on chamber music in education on Friday 20 September, 12:00-2:30pm.
The course comprises two hour-long sessions:
- an interactive session between members of St Ultan’s Senior Orchestra and The Fidelio Trio. Ten young musicians from this primary school orchestra will perform and work closely with the world-renowned ensemble
- a practical session and discussion on string teaching and learning for tutors and senior students led by Darragh Morgan (violin) and Robin Michael (cello). The focus here will be on the professional development of the string tutor (in classical, trad or other styles) and of those leading/administering established or emerging instrumental groups in schools or in the wider community
This promises to be a fun and inspiring day and is open to all with an interest in promoting instrumental ensembles in schools and communities. String teachers and players: don’t forget to bring your instrument!
A light sandwich lunch will be provided for those in attendance.
To reserve a place at this event contact Carol Davis, Music Administrator,

Later that evening at 6.30pm The Fidelio Trio will perform a jazz-inspired programme in the historic Belvedere House, St Patrick’s College, as part of Culture Night 2013.
The Fidelio Trio Residency is funded by the Arts Council of Ireland and St Patrick's College.
