Music Generation Annual Report 2025
We are excited to present the Music Generation Annual Report for 2025. In 2024, we proudly reached 10% of children and young people in Ireland.
Young musicians from Music Generation Laois, Carlow, Offaly / Westmeath, Limerick City and Donegal Music Education are joining together in ‘One Voice’ for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform at this year’s Electric Picnic.
Music Generation, Ireland’s National Music Education Programme, will host a range of performances and workshops throughout the entire weekend at Electric Picnic 2014. Music Generation has its own area in Mind Field with its own stage and converted double-decker bus (from Music Generation Limerick City) where the majority of the organisation’s activity at this year’s festival will take place.
Performances throughout the weekend include a giant choir, ‘One Voice’, featuring 85 young singers from Laois, Donegal Carlow and Offaly / Westmeath on Saturday 30th August at the Music Generation stage. Also on Saturday the Music Generation Laois traditional music group will perform on the Raidio na Life stage. The Music Generation Laois Stampede Drumming Group will perform on Sunday 31st on the Music Generation stage.
A range of music workshops in African drumming, hip-hop and DJing and open mic events will take place outside and aboard the double-decker bus throughout the weekend, for both adults and children. The full programme of events will be displayed on the site and on Music Generation’s Facebook and Twitter.
Music Generation is Ireland’s National Music Education Programme helping children and young people access high quality subsidised music education in their local area, initiated by Music Network, co-funded by U2, The Ireland Funds, the Department of Education and Skills and Local Music Education Partnerships.
