Music Generation Wicklow is delighted to sponsor a short Bray Jazz Festival workshop led by renowned trumpet player Dave Douglas.
Dave will touch on many topics and provide a new insight and inspiration to musicians young and old.
Dave Douglas is a band leader, composer, teacher and one of the leading trumpet players in contemporary jazz for a generation. His unique contributions to improvised music have garnered distinguished recognition, including a Guggenheim Fellowship, an Aaron Copland award and two Grammy nominations.
Taking a broad look at great music of the past, Douglas and visiting artists will encourage participants in fresh ways of thinking about music and music making.
In non-competitive environment participants explore their common passions for music, examining the tradition to find an individual approach to new music – looking at the past to create the future.
The workshop is free to attend and we are encouraging under 18’s with an interest in trumpet or jazz music to register.
