SoundOUT's Gráinne McHale presents PHD Research Project ‘On the Use of Assistive Technology for Inclusive Ensembles and Meaningful Music Making’

As part of the Dept. of Music and School of Music & Theatre PHD presentations at the Ó Riada Hall in UCC last week, SoundOUT director and tutor Gráinne McHale presented her PHD Research Project entitled ‘On the Use of Assistive Technology for Inclusive Ensembles and Meaningful Music Making’.

SoundOUT, in partnership with Music Generation Cork City, provides inclusive music-making and learning opportunities for people with disabilities through the use of a range of enabling music technologies.

Gráinne is using her experience with SoundOUT as her case study for her research. At her presentation Gráinne provided an insight into the progress that is ongoing in the city, through school and community based music ensembles, and the positive impact that this is having on all involved, both with and without disabilites.
