Music Generation Sligo Instrument Bank funding scheme now open for applications

2016 Blog MG Sligo Instrument Bank 560x373
The 4th annual Music Generation Sligo Instrument Bank 50/50 Scheme is now seeking applications from schools, youth, community and music organisations in Sligo.

Supported by Music Generation national and local partners, this year’s scheme, worth €20,000, will benefit hundreds of young people under the age of 18 in Sligo and enable schools and youth/music organisations to expand or create new musical instrument banks.

The scheme will grant-aid 50% of the cost of each successful local instrument bank and purchase high-quality instruments such as digital pianos, guitars, drums, trumpets, violins, harps, uilleann pipes, musical equipment, percussion packs and much more.

“Music Generation Sligo wishes to support the long term development of Instrument Banks in partnership with local schools, youth, community and music organisations in Sligo… helping to generate more music and a new
generation of musicians”,
explained Rhona McGrath, Coordinator at Music Generation Sligo.

Applications for the 2016/17 Music Generation Sligo Instrument Bank 50/50 Scheme are open now until Thursday 6 October, 2016.

Further information and application forms are available at www.musicgenerationsligo.com, by email or phone at +353 71 913 8306.
