Music Generation Sligo exciting developments for new academic year 2014/15

Sligo new term 2014 15
Music Generation Sligo's programme continues to grow and develop with the number of schools participating almost doubling for the 2014/15 school year. Over 1,000 children and young people in primary and secondary schools will learn guitar, keyboard, violin, recorder and tinwhistle. Others have opted for a singing programme. And this year for the first time, a class of 14 in West Sligo will learn the cello in class – photos to follow!

Music centres in Easkey, Ballymote and Grange are continuing tuition in guitar, keyboard, drums and voice. New classes in harp, cello and voice will commence at The Coleman Centre, Gurteen. Registration in Gurteen is Tuesday 16 September 4-6pm. Music Generation Sligo is also partnering with Sligo Academy of Music to introduce a new brass programme – in this exciting new development, children and teens will have the opportunity to learn trumpet, trombone or French horn for the first time in Sligo.
