MESSIN WITH THE MUSIC is a series of creative music making workshops aimed at young people.
Participants will spend time getting to know each other with a chance to ‘jam’ together whilst developing theoretical skills involved with musical creativity. Participants will then be split into ensembles with the facilitators as mentors building upon all objectives throughout the week. This will culminate in each band having an original piece of music prepared that they will either perform live to an audience and/or record for the grand finale of the programme.
Throughout the week participants will learn the fundamentals of composition, songwriting, music theory, performance, rhythm, improvisation and musicianship in a fun and relaxed environment.
Times: 11am-4pm daily, group performance on Friday 26th at 6pm – all welcome
Age-group: 13-18 yrs
Musical Ability/Level: open to participants of all levels of musical ability and instrumentation
Cost: €30
Capacity: 21 participants
