Music Generation Ambassadors Scoil Aonghusa perform in the perfect setting!

Louth us embassy 2
Amidst the busy preparations and last minute Christmas shopping, the 5th class boys and girls from Scoil Aonghusa Gaelscoil in Drogheda took time out to perform a selection of carols and festive favourites for the staff and special guests at the American Embassy in Dublin recently.

The school participates in Music Generation Louth's Traditional Music programme and several of the school choir singers are also part of the Music Generation Louth Choir. Founded in 1981, Scoil Aonghusa has always had a very strong musical tradition and the choir enchanted and delighted guests with their repertoire of songs, sung in Irish and English, under the guidance of their singing teacher Geraldine Doggett, conductor Máistir Seán English, with lots of encouragement and support from Principal Edel Ní Bhroin.

The children thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to perform in this landmark building and were delighted to meet American Ambassador Kevin O'Malley who welcomed them to the Embassy.
