Music Generation Mayo's Kaleidoscope Big Band will be representing Mayo at the Gala Concert 2014 on Monday 13th October, 7:30pm, at the National Concert Hall.
10 young musical ambassadors from Music Generation Mayo will perform for President Michael D. Higgins on Monday 13th October. The performance forms part of the Music Generation National Conference and Gala Concert taking place in the National Concert Hall on the 13th and 14th of October.
Set to become an annual showcase event, this inaugural Gala Concert celebrates the achievements of Music Generation Louth, Mayo and Sligo – the first three counties who joined the programme in 2011. Having now reached their third birthday, all three counties recently transitioned into a new phase and the Gala Concert will mark a celebration of their superb musical achievements in style!
Set to perform to a 1,000 strong national audience, the Kaleidoscope Big Band features a group of diverse young musicians aged 13-18 years from Co. Mayo collaborating with Dennis Wyers and the Rhombus Quintet for a very special performance of a newly composed musicial extravaganza!
