Job Opportunity: Resource Worker (fixed-term contract), Music Generation Mayo

Mayo, Sligo and Leitrim Education and Training Board (MSL ETB) – lead partner in Music Generation Mayo – seeks to employ a Resource Worker for the management, promotion and day-to-day running of the Music Generation Mayo Youth Music Hub and associated music education outreach projects.

The Youth Music Hub, situated in Ballina Arts Centre, is designed to be a central location where support, resources, information and a positive environment are offered to young musicians, singer-songwriters and bands aged 12 to 18. At the Hub, young musicians receive tuition, rehearse, collaborate, perform and inspire each other.

The Resource Worker will be responsible for devising and implementing a strategy for the promotion and development of the Youth Music Hub and be charged with linking in with existing provision and supports available through the Music Generation Mayo programme.

The ideal candidate will have -
  • A relevant qualification
  • A passion for the engagement and development of music in all its forms
  • Experience working with young people
  • Excellent communication, organisational and technical skills
Music Generation Mayo is a music education service for children and young people in County Mayo. It is part of Music Generation – Ireland’s National Music Education Programme, initiated by Music Network, co-funded by U2, The Ireland Funds, the Department of Education and Skills and Local Music Education Partnerships.

Locally, Music Generation Mayo is managed by Mayo MEP and funded by Mayo County Council, Mayo, Sligo and Leitrim ETB, Mayo County Community Forum, Local Community Development Committee and Mayo Education Centre.
