Presented by Music Generation Cork City and SoundOUT, the inaugural Colloquium on Inclusive Music Education will explore practice and research relating to the development of inclusive bands and choirs. It will also look at the use of digital technology to enable access to performance music education for young people with disabilities.

The Colloquium, which takes place over two days on 20 and 21 May 2016, will be led by Dr Gráinne McHale, Director of SoundOUT, and hosted by the School of the Divine Child and University College Cork.

The event will include interactive workshops, presentations and performances from Music Generation Cork City's SoundOUT and Cork Community Music Projects and a Keynote Speech by Professor Judith Jellison, renowned author of ‘Including Everyone’ (University of Austin, Texas).

Among those presenting and leading workshops on the day will be Dr Tim Anderson (Inclusive Music, UK); Elin Skogdal and Einar Berg-Olson (SKUG, University of Tromso); Beverley White (Open Arts Belfast); Dr Michelle McCormack (Drake Music Northern Ireland) and Dr Evelyn Grant (RTÉ Lyric FM).
