Following an incredibly successful inaugural summer programme in 2015, we are delighted to announce the launch of Soundwaves 2016!

Applications are now open for the programme which will take place at the Regional Cultural Centre in Letterkenny, Co. Donegal from 15 – 17 February.

Over three inspiring days the participants will create music and jam together, explore improvisation skills and create resources using mobile and digital technology. Soundwaves will give young people with a passion for music – writers, instrumentalists, singers and producers – a unique opportunity to work together to develop the skills of a 21st century musician.

The programme is suitable for singers, drummers and instrumentalists of all genres – classical, traditional, jazz, rock and pop – as well as digital musicians using garage band and other apps on iPads, portable devices and smartphones.

Successful applicants will:
  • Work alongside professional musicians, producers and facilitators
  • Work together with graduates of the Soundwaves Summer 2015 Programme
  • Get involved in collaborative composing, leading, improvising, arranging, recording, producing, marketing, performing and working across musical genres
  • Learn how to use low cost technology to create and promote their music

The inaugural Soundwaves Programme took place during the summer of 2015. Together, participants wrote and recorded five original tracks and music videos, as well as composing and performing three large ensemble pieces.
