Offaly/Westmeath are among three new regions recently selected for participation in Music Generation – the U2 and Ireland Funds’ supported National Music Education Programme, initiated by Music Network.
In response, Offaly County Council, on behalf of Music Generation Offaly/ Westmeath seeks tenders from individuals or groups to deliver The Early Years Kodály Music Programme in primary schools across both counties.
Music Generation Offaly/ Westmeath is looking to engage with Music Education Practitioners who are highly motivated, passionate about music education and interested in participating in training opportunities in Kodály philosophy and methodology. Willing and able to teach music through singing (though not necessarily a trained singer), Music Education Practitioners are expected to play at least one instrument to a good standard with some keyboard facility an asset. Interest in generating and contributing to ensemble activity is essential, however prior experience is not a requirement.
Music Education Practitioners tendering should understand that they will be joining a wider developmental programme of embedding music into the everyday lives of young people in Offaly and Westmeath with the contract for service. Music Education Practitioners offered the contract for service will be required to participate in further training and professional development opportunities. The closing date for submission of tenders is 3pm, Thursday, 15th August, 2013.
