In March 2020, reporter Brenda Donohue from RTÉ's Today Show with Maura and Daithí paid a visit to Scoil Íosagáin, Farranree, Cork City, to find out what a musical school really looks like.

The music programme based at Scoil Íosagáin is delivered in collaboration between Music Generation Cork City and Creative Tradition, a partner community organisation that runs social and musical projects, providing tuition and workshops in traditional Irish music, sean-nós dancing, traditional singing, composition and creative music ensembles.

Under the mentorship of their tutors Jessie, Joe, Karl and Paul, and with the unstinting support of the school team, the boys at Scoil Íosagáin have the opportunity to learn guitar, various traditional Irish instruments, to develop a large school choir and even to write their own songs.

Watch the full feature as broadcast RTÉ, Wednesday 4 March 2020.
